WebApr 25, 2011 · With your combination of tires and gearing I would think it better to start out in first gear. The 2.20 and 3.73 get a 8.21:1 1st. Second gear on the M21 would be 1.64, multiply that by 3.73 and you get 6.12:1. I think there would be quite a bit less strain on the drive train to start out in first gear, and then hit second if need be. WebMay 7, 2024 · Use RPM based shifting, set first gear to 1500. Second gear launch and burnout worked fine. WebDec 12, 2008 · Hello, the purpose of a burn out is to heat the tires, the slower the tire turns in the process the longer you have to do it, and (rev the engine)and sit in the box and secondly every time you shift there will be 1 more shift less left before something wears out.
